We have been on a huge skincare kick here at Tangerine Salon and that did not stop with just our faces. We are all always looking for better ways to have glowing, radiant skin from head to toe. The best way to achieve your ideal complexion is to regularly exfoliate away dead skin cells. Exfoliation can be completed multiple ways but our absolute favorite is by dry brushing.

What is Dry Brushing?

Dry brushing is exactly what it sounds like. You’re going to take a spa body bush and thoroughly brush you dry skin before your shower to sweep away all the dead skin cells clinging to your body. It’s best to do this right before your shower so you are able to wash away the dead skin and you’ll come out of the shower a whole new person, trust us.

Your skin is the largest organ in/on your body and most of us do not even think twice about the products we put on it or how we treat it from day to day. By dry brushing regularly, your are stimulating your lymphatic system which helps blood flow through your skin which gives your that radiant, glowing appearance that we are craving. You have the nourish your skin to ensure that it will continue to take care of you year after year.

Step By step

You’re going to have work in small circular motions always moving towards your heart. Start down at you feet and move up both legs making sure to reach inch of your legs. There is a slight tingling sensation but this should never be painful or irritate your skin, if you notice any pain while you dry brush try using less pressure or purchasing a bush with softer bristles. When it comes to your back, if you are not flexible to reach down your back, maybe purchase a bush with a handle to make the reach a little more manageable. Once you’ve brushed away all your dry skin away, hop in the shower and rinse it all down the drain.
