Head to Head | Curly Products
Aveda just launched a new curly hair product, the Nutriplenish Curl Gelee. This is the first launch for curl specific products in many years so we were more than excited to test it head to head with the crowd favorite, Be Curly Curl Enhancer. We wanted to see how this new addition would stand up to the tried and true or will we still be reaching for our beloved enhancer.
Be Curly Curl Enhancer
AKA, old faithful. Be Curly Curl Enhancer is an all star product for a reason, Aveda customer and our guest swear by this product to help enhance their curl pattern and keep those curls looking their best all day long. Curl enhancer is a curl creme that is applied to midlengths and ends while your hair is still sopping wet. Use your fingers to detangle the curls and make sure you’re applying the product all the way through your hair. You can choose to air dry or diffuse your hair, whatever your styling preference is. (We recommend diffusing for the best results.) We love it because it won’t make curls feel crunchy, and the added ingredient of geranium gives them a light floral aroma. Be Curly Curl Enhancer will intensify and enhance your curls and waves while providing extra shine and frizz defense, keeping you looking your best throughout the day.
Nutriplenish Curl Gelee
This is Aveda bright and shiny new star but is it good enough to replace the curl enhancer. Well, it depends of the look you are trying to achieve. Curl enhancer is a curl creme and curl gelee is a moisturizing curl gel so the results are going to be different. The nourishing properties of the gelee are going to moisturize and provide superfoods to your curls to keep you strands looking and feeling their best throughout the day and for years to come. You’re going to apply this product similarly to the curl enhancer. Apply evenly on wet hair from root to tip by gliding downward to elongate curls or scrunching to help define curls. You can air dry or blow-dry with a diffuser for added volume and curl definition. Once fully dry, shake at the root and scrunch to soften curls.
