Hair Care Routine | Transitioning from Summer to Fall

The weather is changing and it’s the perfect time to transition your hair care routine from summer to fall. Here are some tips for getting ready for the new season:

Swap out your shampoo & conditioner

You may opt for a more clarifying shampoo and conditioner due like Shampure or Rosemary Mint but it may be in your best interest to swap those our for something more forgiving. We recommend the new Smooth Infusion line to tame any frizziness that surface as the temperature begins to dip or the Nutriplenish line to boost your hair with helpful, nourishing ingredients.

Cleanse Less Often

In the winter, we almost always need more moisture than in the summer, so if you’re experiencing dry hair, it could be due to over washing. Try cleansing every other day or even every third day. Aveda has a wonderful line of no-wash products. You can read more about them here!

Heat Protectant. Heat Protectant. Heat Protectant.

We honestly can not say it enough. Use heat protectants when styling with heat tools. We could leave it at that because that is all you need to know but if you want to see the amazing line up of heat protectants that Aveda has to offer, check them out here.

Deep Conditioning Treatment

This switch is not 100% necessary but it a great way to treat yourself once or twice a week. You’re able to really customize your haircare routine by adding in different deep conditioning treatments, whether you’re looking to strengthen your hair or give it a large drink of moisture you can completely transform your hair. Use a deep conditioner weekly or biweekly (depending on how often you wash). Deep conditioning will help restore moisture back into your broken strands while also adding shine and softness!
