4 Products to Include into Your Haircare Routine

Most of us have a skincare routine, but do you have a dedicated haircare routine? We all wash and conditioner our hair on a regular basis but a dedicated routine for our haircare can really elevate our best hair days. These are our 4 products we think everyone should start incorporating into their regular haircare routine.

Protein Packed Hair Mask

If you are someone who regularly colors their hair (especially if you frequently go lighter), you should look into investing in a protein packed hair mask. This product is the perfect self care, spa night addition to any haircare routine. Every time your cause damage to your hair (which probably happens more often than you think), you are losing integrity in your hair. This is the number one thing we strive to maintain as haircare professionals; hair integrity allows you to have glowing, healthy hair and that is almost everyones goal in the haircare world. By incorporating a protein rich, bond building hair mask weekly or bimonthly, you will help rebuild you hair and put you on the path to strong, thriving strands. Aveda recently launched two new bond building hair masks, a light mask for finer hair and a rich mask that really packs a protein punch for those of us with thicker, courser strands.

Moisturizing Hair Oil

We are heading head first into the driest time of the year and we must prepare in multiple areas of our life. First stop, haircare. Consider investing in a nutrient packed moisturizing hair oil to help mend those ends all winter long. Hair oils can be used in so many ways. Of course you can just add your desired amount to the ends of your hair and walk out the door with glossy, shiny hair but the uses do not stop there. One of our most favorite ways to use a hair oil is as a pretreatment before we shampoo. We’ll add a generous amount and apply from root to end being so really massage the oil into our scalp. You will leave the oil in your hair for as long or as little as you’d like and then shampoo like normal. Just try it, you will thank us later.

Clarifying Shampoo

Clean hair is so important, we all know that. However, your normal everyday shampoo may not be cleaning as deeply as you think. With all the styling products we use to protect against our hot tools and all the dry shampoo we use to extend our gorgeous styles can really start to build up over time. Every couple of weeks you’re going to want to really get down deep and cleanse away all the residue piled high. You don’t have to use anything too astringent, just a nice clarifying shampoo like the Aveda rosemary mint purifying shampoo. Incorporate this shampoo into your monthly or bimonthly shower routine. We do not recommend using this shampoo range every single time you cleanse your hair but a great addition for occasional clarifying.

Scalp Treatment

We show so much attention to our skincare regimen but completely neglect our scalps on a regular basis. Scalp treatments can be a game changer to your hair health especially if you struggle with a dry, itchy or even flaky scalp. If this sounds like you, maybe consider a scalp centric shampoo like the scalp benefits balancing shampoo for everyday treatment. If you are wanting to take pampering your scalp to the next level, we recommend incorporating a scalp mask twice monthly to our regimen. A new launch to the Aveda Invati line is a intensive hair and scalp masque. This mask will save your hair by deeply nourishing your scalp while thickening, strengthening and hydrating thinning hair.
